(1) The investigation of work accidents is made in order to establish the circumstances and causes that caused them, as well as to determine the measures to prevent such phenomena.

(2) By researching the cases of contracting occupational diseases, the diagnosis is confirmed, the professional character of the disease is confirmed or denied and the causes that caused the illness are determined.

(3) The communication, research, registration and evidence of work accidents and occupational diseases shall be carried out in the manner established by the Government.

(4) The representatives of the hierarchically superior bodies and of the trade unions have the right to participate in the investigation of work accidents, as well as to assist the persons representing the interests of the injured or their families.
